I made Aliyah to Haifa in May 2019. I come from a traditional Masorti/Conservative home and I immediately felt at home in the community. I don't have any family in Israel, though I have amazing family friends, I now also have my own amazing family that I met through Moriah. The community has been so gracious, inviting me to meals for shabbat, hosting me for the chaggim so I could walk to shul. I always have a meaningful experience at the Kehilah, whether its for tfilot or community events, such as the screening of the zoo keepers wife and two speakers in honor of international holocaust remembrance day and the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
Beautiful synagogue and very welcoming group of people
Fantastic masorti/conservative synagogue, with warm and friendly people all around! You can find speakers of many languages, including English, Russian, Spanish, and French, within the synagogue who are happy to help if you find yourself lost within the text trying to find your place in the siddur or machzor. Also, there are many events being organized at or with the cooperation of the synagogue on different topics. Rabbi Dov Haiyun is fully engaged with both the local community at the synagogue, in the area, and doing a lot of cross-cultural work to bring the various religious communities together to meet and learn from each other. Rabbi Dubi, as he is affectionately called by our congregation, cares deeply about the well-being of his community members. He helps all people who come to him in need, including those who are outside the specific synagogue community, doing everything he can to either directly provide resources and help, or to connect people to others who can and have deep knowledge in a given area of expertise.
Conservative synagogue. Very conservative in mindset as well
בניין מרהיב בעל ספרייה, חדרי משרד, מטבחון וחצר קטנה בחוץ. הקהילה אמנם קטנה כרגע אבל נמצאת במגמת עלייה משמעותית. אחלה של מקום סך הכל
קהילה פנטסטית. אנשים מעולים, רבי נפלא, כמו שצריך להיות. נהדר במיוחד עבור עולים מארצות דוברות אנגלית, משפחות צעירות וכאלה המחפשים להתחבר מחדש למורשת היהודית שלהם. קהילה פלורליסטית, לא תבוא לכאן וישפטו אותך.
בית כנסת נעים, קהילה מסבירת פנים, רב צעיר וחרוץ. התפילות בסגנון של התנועה המסורתית ככה שאין הפרדה או הבדל בין נשים לגברים.
