Commencing operations in 1977, the Pincus Fund for Jewish Education provides start-up support for creative educational projects in the Diaspora. To date, the Pincus Fund has invested in hundreds of organizations to address changing needs in the Jewish world through Jewish Education. The Pincus Fund, an initiative of the Jewish Agency for Israel in partnership with the World Zionist Organization, the Government of Israel and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, is committed to the centrality of Israel and the value of diversity across the Jewish world. Highlights of the Pincus Fund's work include the following accomplishments; - Establishment of 47 Jewish day schools -Strengthening a further 61 Jewish day schools through the addition of new classes and the development of new programs - Establishment of 80 new Jewish kindergartens - 63 projects to develop new curricula for Jewish kindergartens, day schools, supplementary schools, informal and adult education programs - 18 projects which provide education and training primarily via the internet - 70 teacher training projects for educators in Jewish schools and kindergartens - 49 projects to train local community leaders and youth group madrichim - 212 projects in adult and informal education
