"Turret Building" - The building was designed for the Convent of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Apparition by an unidentified architect it was built by the nuns of the convent after leaving the walls of the Old City, in the time period from 188s 1917 . Its original purpose was to serve as a French - Catholic high school for giris, and was originally called Pensionnat Saint Joseph. The building was listed for conservation in the 2530 Yehuda Margoza area preservation plan. The two-turreted symmetrical building that faces Yeffet is designed in the European style, Its high ceilings, its floors covered with decorated tiles and its spacious marble staircases lend the building the appearance of a French palace. The building has been converted for the use by the W hotel, which was established in the French hospital at 36 Yeffet Planners: Architects John Pawson and Ramy Gill.
