Never go without making an appointment on MyVisit. Trust me it will make your life a lot better and you won’t have to wait for hours.

I went there with an appointment. They skipped my number twice but the girl at the window was nice and diligent

This is a government office. It is clean, neat and in a central convenient location. The staff are helpful and pleasant. It is usually busy and there may be a long wait. An individual's level of satisfaction will be determined by their ability to accomplish what they came for. Government policy is not the purview of the staff. They carry out rules, but do not make them.

horrible place, horrible people, horrible service incomplete information provided each time so that you have to return again & again expect one-two hour wait time waited an hour on the phone for a service representative until I got cut off finally passport arrived with huge mistake nasty teller who didn't know what she was doing - don't expect better from the manager 2 out of 3 tellers were nice, so just PRAY that you get a decent person ( I had to go 4x & the final one was the idiot who messed up my passport, wanted to make me pay twice for the same service & block my application although it had been approved by her supervisor). If you're counting the third visit I gave up because after waiting for an hour, I actually had to get to work. so now after all this still have to figure out how to fix my passport but feel nauseous at the idea of going back to that place.

Their official hours and what they decide that day are all made up. At will they change their hours of operation. And who am I to complain to? The government? They are the government! For visa's go as early as you can, as they won't let you in past 9, and even if you end up there before nine you'll be waiting for hours till they take care of you. And make sure to bring every paper possible because they randomly make up that you need other papers they never told you about.
