We are currently facing a genuine and significant threat to the health of all Israeli citizens, especially the elderly population. The economic situation is undermining most people’s sense of self-security, and the key to slowing down the coronavirus is - isolation. This is a wakeup call for everyone, but especially for people like us, the doers - that can't sit quietly when others that are less fortunate are being affected by this situation. We are calling on you to join us in taking action by offering help to all citizens of this country. Last week, our initiative was launched under the name "The MIC" - The Migdalor Initiative for Coronavirus " We created an action plan and set up a dedicated site to coordinate the volunteer activities: https://miccorona.jimdosite.com/ We have selected three projects that will have an immediate impact on Israeli citizens: 1. Lifesaving - distribution of food, essential equipment, and medication for isolated and elderly(Permits are being issued by the state (municipalities/organizations), giving permission to operate volunteer systems in this area). 2. Economic Resilience - helping small businesses (Which currently employ over 1.83 million workers) to cope financially with the crisis. (We will be accompanied by professional organizations). 3. Technological and medical assistance - connecting key personnel, to address medical and technological challenges in order to combat the virus. While many challenges are ahead of us, we as a community of Hovlim alumni are working together with other communities and volunteers to overcome this crisis. With the Hovlim spirit, we will have a significant impact on the lives of thousands of Israelis. What do we need from you? 1.
